Five men were arrested after they were caught on CCTV cameras stealing meat valued at R12 000 from a business in the Anchorville area on Friday, August 12.

The men, aged between 23 and 45 years of age, were seen throwing meat parcels over a fence, by the business owner who then alerted security. When the security guard went to investigate, he alleged that he saw two men running away, leaving the parcels behind. He took the parcels back to the shop.

After viewing the video footage he was able to identify the employees. The police were called to the scene and the five suspects were placed under arrest.

SAPS Lenasia Station Commander Brigadier Gopane commended the officers for a job well executed. He encouraged the public to work with the police in order to combat any criminal activities in Lenasia.
