On Thursday, August 25, the police have arrested a 47-year-old male in Vlakfontein on a charge of sexual assault.
The mother of the minor had allegedly gone to the police station to lay a charge against her boyfriend.
It is alleged that at approximately 9 am on August 25, the mother had sent her daughters to a nearby tuck shop. When the girls were late in returning home, the mother enquired about the delay. One of the girls allegedly informed her mother that on the way to the shop the other sister had confided in her saying that she had been subjected to the sexual advances and inappropriate touching of her stepfather.
The suspect was traced and placed under arrest. He was scheduled to make his first appearance in the Lenasia Magistrates Court August 29.
