A man and his wife were rudely awoken by two men who broke into the house on Flamingo Street, in Lenasia Extension 1.
Upon entering the house on Thursday, January 7, the men, one carrying a knife and the other carrying a gun, bound the couple and their child and demanded valuables. They then ransacked the house and fled the scene.
“The family was robbed of an undisclosed amount of money, jewellery and a personal firearm,” a source said.
The wife managed to untie herself and contacted the police.
Police are investigating a case of house robbery.
Attempts to obtain comment from Captain Hector of the Lenasia SAPS seemed futile.
