Shop owner arrested for attempted murder

At 6 pm, on November 19,  Johannesburg Central Police arrested a 33-year-old man for attempted murder. The suspect was arrested at his shop, situated at the corner of Goud and Commissioner streets.

The Johannesburg Central SAPS spokesperson, Captain Xoli Mbele said, “It is alleged that the suspect shot a 38-year old male twice at the corner Main and Goud Street at 12 pm on November 12. The victim was inside the shop when two males entered. One of the men pointed a firearm at him and pulled him out of his shop.”

Captain Mbele added, “The men accused him of stealing their customers. Two shots were fired at him, but they missed. He was stabbed once in the upper body. He was taken to hospital by an ambulance. The man who stabbed the victim is still at large. An investigation is underway. The arrested suspect will appear at the Johannesburg Magistrates’ Court.”
