A 41-year-old man was nabbed and arrested by the Vaalrand Flying Squad at Grasmere Toll Plaza. The man was caught, when a white taxi he had been travelling in was stopped.
When the police searched the taxi at about 10:30am, they discovered a stash of drugs in one of the passenger’s parcels.
Lenasia South SAPS Communication Officer, Sergeant Khalipha Mvula said 321 small packets containig rock were seized as well as 157 mandrax tablets, with a street value of R250 000.
The man was charged with possession of drugs. The suspect who was on his way to Johannesburg, will soon appear at the Protea Magistrates’ Court.
