Recently, the Soweto West SAPS Cluster arrested a 20-year-old woman for fraud in Protea Glen Mall.
“It is alleged that the suspect tried to buy clothes with fraudulent documents at a Truworths Store. The complainant noticed that the suspect looked nervous while she was checking the documents the woman provided,” said Sergeant Mashiteng of the Soweto West SAPS Cluster.
She found that the documents were fraudulent and called the police.
“Upon searching her bags, it was found that she already bought some items of clothing from Identity Store,” added Sergeant Mashiteng.
The woman was arrested on the spot and was charged with fraud. She appeared in the Protea Magistrates’ Court on a charge of fraud.
