Beware of R2000 cash for SAPS job scam

The South African Police Service is looking for loyal and dedicated people from the ages of 18 to 30. Qualified candidates will undergo  intensive training from next year.

However, there are a few individuals who are alleged to be taking advantage of the applicants. These individuals are phoning the applicants requesting they pay them R2000 to secure their placement.

Speaking to the Rising Sun, Captain Hector Netshivhodza said , they are aware of the scam and urged community members not to fall for the trap.

Captain Netshivhodza, said,” We know that there are people who are phoning the applicants to pay them money. Don’t pay any cent for the job. If one knows any victim, one is urged to come forward with any information that can assist the police in apprehending the culprits. Take note of the bank accounts of the culprits and their details”.

Those who have any information must contact Captain Netshivhodza on 011 213 6000/079 525 1428.

The minimum requirements for applicants are:

1. Between the ages of 18 and 30.
2. Possession of a Grade 12 certificate.
3. Proficient in at least two languages, of which one must be English.
4. Prepared to take the oath of office.
