According to Lenasia SAPS spokesperson, Captain Hector Netshivhodza, the shop assistant had left the shop to purchase airtime at a nearby shop. Upon arrival, three suspects stormed the shop demanding money from the owner.
“The suspects then shot the owner on the upper body whilst shooting randomly. The assistant was also seriously injured and rushed to hospital,” Netshivhodza said.
An estimated amount of money was taken during the brazen robbery.
The suspects are said to have fled the scene in a white BMW, the make of the car was, however, not clear.
