A 29-year-old man sustained a fatal gunshot wound to the back of his neck on Saturday, October 3.
The man was found by police on Drakenstein Street in Lenasia South’s Extension 4.
According to Sergeant Khalipha Mvula, communication officer of the Lenasia South SAPS, the victim sustained only one gunshot wound.
The motive behind the shooting is still unknown.
“The neighbours said they heard a gunshot but they did not see anything,” said Sergeant Mvula.
His body was found around 6.50pm by police. The man was declared dead at the scene.
