The 17-year-old, who was arrested in connection with the murder of Abdus Samad Rasool, was released and all charges against him were dropped.
“There was no evidence linking him to the case,” said Captain Hector Netshivhivhodza of the Lenasia SAPS.
Abdus Samad Rasool was found murdered on Saturday, October 22.
On Tuesday, October 25, following up on leads the SAPS arrested their first suspect, Muhammed Shuaib Kader (24). Several items belonging to the deceased – a wallet, bank cards, cellphones and the keys to the missing vehicle – were found in Kader’s possession.
Following his arrest, two more suspects were arrested the same evening which included the 17-year-old and his mother, who resided in the same house as Rasool. However, they were later released
