A 49-year-old man was recently arrested for allegedly defrauding his victims of R51-million in Lenasia.
According to Captain Hector Netshivhodza of the Lenasia SAPS, the suspect offered his victims tenders and investments and in return they would deposit money into his account.
The man was arrested after his victims laid charges against him.
The suspect made his first appearance in the Lenasia Magistrates’ Court on Monday, October 24, and the case was postponed for further investigation.
“Police had opposed bail as more victims are coming forth to lay charges against the suspect,” said Netshivhodza.
