A man who hijacked a Mercedes-Benz and abducted the 67-year-old driver appeared in court on Monday, September 12 , on charges of hijacking, attempted murder and kidnapping.
According to JMPD Superintendent Wayne Minnaar, on Friday, September 9, the JMPD spotted the Mercedes-Benz on the K43. When officers tried to pull the vehicle over, the hijacker opened fire on them and sped off, with the victim tied up in the vehicle
JMPD gave chase and the culprit was eventually arrested in Mapetla, Soweto, after the car’s rear tyres were punctured with bullets.
