Police recently arrested a man in Dobsonville, Soweto, who was found driving a silver Mercedes Benz which was hijacked in Athimsa Crescent, in Lenasia Extension 13.
According to reports, on Tuesday night, September 6, the owner, a woman, was parking her vehicle in the yard when she was accosted by the hijackers who arrived in a green Hyundai Sonata.
Lenasia SAPS spokesperson, Captain Hector Netshivhodza said one of the men held her up at gunpoint and drove off with her, followed by his accomplice in the Sonata. She was taken to Dobsonville where she was dropped off. The hijackers also abandoned the Sonata there and drove away in the Mercedes.
