A trial date has been set for the men accused of murdering Mc’Donald Lebate in 2014. He was killed after a dispute over R25 at a 24-hour outlet last September.

Faizel Moosa, Reshad Moosa and Riyaad Moosa are charged with allegedly murdering Lebate.

Dried blood stains are all that remained at the scene of the alleged killing.

The trial proceedings will start on December 10, 2015, at the Johannesburg High Court said Petrus Lebate, McDonald’s father.

After endless postponements and not enough witnesses, the trio first appeared in the Protea Magistrate’s Court on October 14, 2014. The case was then postponed to October 23, 2014, for the Moosas to apply for Legal Aid.

Reshad Moosa was kept in custody and has made several court appearances.

McDonald was hit with a wheel spanner on the head outside a 24 hour convenience store and collapsed.  He was then put in the boot of Moosa’s vehicle and taken to Saberrie Chistry Ambulance Services. He was found dead with multiple stab wounds to the body. The alleged killers were escorted to the Lenasia Police Station by Saaberie Chisty.
