A 47-year-old man was shot dead at Lenasia Extension 4’s Poplar Street on Friday, August 21, in what could be a revenge killing.
Around 9.30pm, the victim was exiting a vehicle’ passenger seat, when a red Toyota Corolla approached.
“Without any warning the occupants in the Toyota started shooting at the victim,” said Captain Hector Netshivhodza of the Lenasia SAPS.
Emer-G-Med was called to the scene and declared the man dead. The victim sustained gunshot wounds to the head and chest.
According to Netshivhodza, the get-away vehicle’s registration is unknown.
The 47-year-old is alleged to be a murder suspect currently on trial for the murder of a man stabbed at a police station last year and according to a source, it might have been a revenge killing.
“The deceased’s brother was killed about three months prior to this incident,” said the source.
