Burnt body found in Lenasia Ext 5

Lenasia Extension 5 members were shocked to learn about the gruesome murder of a male on January 31. Those who have lived in Beril Street for years said this was the first incident of this nature in the area. The swift response by the Lenasia SAPS has led to the arrest of a 32-year-old man for murder. Speaking to the Rising Sun, Lenasia SAPS spokesperson, Sergeant Bafana Ndimande said, “That the victim sustained a stab wound to the upper body. The victim was also burnt. The officers found a knife with blood stains and an empty 2 litre plastic bottle with petrol smell at the crime scene.” Sgt Ndimande added, “The motive for the murder is unknown at this stage. Pathologists have transferred the body to Diepkloof Government Mortuary.”
