Lenasia SAPS is investigating a case of motorbike hijacking which took place in Lenasia, on February 27. Lenasia SAPS spokesperson, Sergeant Bafana

Ndimande, said, “An African male alleged he was on duty at Debonairs Pizza at Trade Route Mall, when he received an online order to deliver pizza to Vaal Street, in Lenasia Extension 9, opposite Poonees Funeral Parlour. He was riding a company motorcycle, a White Honda with registration number HN29HBGP, when he went to deliver the order.”

Sgt Ndimande added, “Upon arrival at the address, he could not see anyone, and he telephoned the manager, who told him to wait as the customer would arrive shortly. While waiting, he was accosted by three unknown African males coming from the direction of Thembelihle informal settlement. One of the males pushed him off the motorcycle. The two other males searched him and took his cellphone. The male who pushed him down took the motorbike and rode away towards Volta Street, Lenasia Extension 10, while his accomplices walked towards Thembelihle informal settlement. The total value of the stolen items is R32,000.” We appeal to the community to assist us with the information that may lead to the recovery of the motorcycle, and the arrest of the perpetrators.
