Two robbery accused given 10 years imprisonment Mozambican nationals, Joseph Mthembu, 49, and Abel Dima, 39, will spend ten years behind bars, after being found guilty of robbery They were sentenced at the Johannesburg Magistrates’ Court. Both accused were also declared unfit to possess a firearm.

On February 9, 2018, at 11.30 pm, the two accused robbed a 33-year-old male at Newtown Park.
They confronted the victim and threatened him with a screwdriver and a scissor before making off with his jacket and takkies. The victim reported the matter and police took him to the scene of crime where he pointed out the two accused. His jacket and takkies were recovered from them. They were held in custody without bail until they were convicted.
