Recently, Johannesburg Central police arrested a 26-year-old man for domestic violence at York House, which is situated at the corner of Kerk and Loveday streets.
Johannesburg Central spokesperson, Captain Mbele said, “It is alleged that the boyfriend assaulted the mother of his two-year-old daughter after he came home under the influence of alcohol and wanted to change the TV channel, while his girlfriend and a child were watching cartoons. He choked her and assaulted her with his fists.

The victim sustained bruises to her face. She was rescued by her neighbours after she screamed for help. The suspect also damaged the television set, a fridge and plates.
