Police have launched a manhunt for two unknown, armed men who were involved in the robbery of the Caltex K43 filling station in Lenasia. He incident occurred on March 19, 2019.
Soweto West Cluster spokesperson, Sergeant Khaliipha Mvula, said, “According to police reports, two employees were on duty at approximately 9 pm when two males, one armed with a firearm, entered the garage and fired a single shot before ordering the staff members to lie down on the floor. The two men then proceeded to steal an undisclosed amount of cash as well as packets of cigarettes.
“Two more gunshots were allegedly fired by the thieves as they were fleeing on foot from the scene. No one was injured. A case of business robbery is currently under investigation and no arrests have been made. We urge members of the public, who might be able to assist with information that could lead to the arrest of the perpetrators, to contact Lenasia SAPS on 010 213 6000, or, Crime Stop number on 086 001 0111.”
