Help find these men

Alister Jansen and Earl Klaasen are being sought by police after failing to appear in the Johannesburg High Court on December 7, 2018.

The pair are accused of murdering Ennerdale resident, Daniel Smith, in 2017.

Smith was allegedly gunned down by the pair while travelling with friends on a provincial road in Ennerdale in May 2017. At the time it was reported that Smith had been one of three occupants travelling in a White Polo, when the occupants of a blue Golf 1 opened fire on the Polo, killing Smith instantly. The victim was seated in the back of the vehicle at the time.

A few days after the shooting, Alister Jansen and Earl Klaasen handed themselves over to police. The two did not produce the firearm used in the murder.

“The two accused were supposed to appear in the Johannesburg High Court on a murder charge, but absconded on December 7, 2018. Two warrants of arrest were issued immediately.  The Ennerdale SAPS appeals to the community to help them to catch the accused men,” said spokesperson, Captain Molefe Mokoena.

Anyone who has information on the whereabouts of Alister Jansen and / or Earl Klaasen should contact constable Sithole on 078 240 8764.
