Two men broke into a house in Lehae and escaped with a flat screen TV. Around 4am, on Thursday, November 12, two sisters were awoken in the dark by the men who were carrying a torch.
“The sisters were instructed not to scream; if they did they would be shot,” said Captain Netshivhodza.
“The suspects then grabbed the flat screen and fled the scene on foot. No injuries were reported. The suspects are still at large. We are investigating a case of house robbery,” Captain Netshivhodza added.
According to a member of Narcotics Anonymous, the powdery substance from flat screen TVs or plasmas are used for drugs.
“We have heard of the drug but don’t know anyone who uses it,” the member said.
The member also highlight another issue concerning flat screen TV robberies.
“Flat screen TVs are also easy to sell. They are usually sold to drug dealers,” said the member.
