On July 20, Johannesburg Central Police arrested a 32-year-old man, for robbery at the corner of Bree and Delvers Street.
Johannesburg SAPS, spokesperson, Captain Xoli Mbele said, “It is alleged that three perpetrators robbed a 23-year-old man at the corner of Jeppe and Von Weilligh Street on July 20 at 8 pm. The victim was attacked and choked by one of the perpetrators, while his accomplices took his bag and made off.”
Mbele added, “Police saw three men running with a bag and gave chase and apprehended the suspect in possession of the bag. The police found the cell phone number of the victim in his diary and contacted him. Two suspects are still at large.”
An investigation is underway and the suspect will appear in the Johannesburg Magistrates’ Court.
