Maraisburg community members are still reeling in shock after an accident claimed two lives.
Another person was taken to a hospital for medical attention. The accident occurred May 11. The vehicle they were traveling in crashed into a concrete barrier on Commando road.
ER24 Spokesperson Annine Siddall said, “At about 10pm, we arrived at the scene where other emergency services were busy treating the men. A man was declared dead by our team and another man was declared dead by other emergency services on scene. The third man sustained moderate injuries was transported to a nearby hospital by the other service on scene”.
He added, “The exact circumstances surrounding the incident were not yet known to our paramedics but local authorities were on the scene for investigations”.
Local authorities will be conducting an investigation into the matter.
