The men and women in blue were commended for their sterling job. This came after they discovered a new-born baby girl abandoned in the veld in Mondeor, on April 17.
SAPS members immediately contacted the paramedics after finding the baby.
Russel Meiring, ER24 Spokesperson, elaborated, “Upon arriving at the scene at 11.45am, paramedics found the new-born with the local authorities. We assessed the girl and found that she had no injuries but was suffering from hypothermia and dehydration. The baby was treated by paramedics before she was transported to a private hospital for further attention.”
Local authorities will be conducting an investigation into the matter.
