A prominent businessman and owner of Daveland Cash and Carry, Shiraaz Gattoo, was kidnapped on Saturday evening.
“His vehicle was found idling off the N12 highway, and there was no sign of him. A helicopter search ensued,” said a source.
A case of kidnapping was opened at the Eldorado police station.
Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the kidnapping.
“A case was opened at the Eldorado police station. We appeal to anyone with information concerning the kidnapping to contact the police,” said Captain Nomvula Mbese of the Soweto East Cluster.
