The Lenasia Crime Prevention Task Team arrested two men, aged 25 and 29, for cultivation of dagga plants and the possession of dagga at the corner of Crocodile Street and Ivy Street in Lehae, on October 17.
“Police were patrolling the area when they received a tip-off on suspects selling dagga at a house in Lehae. They went to the house where they found two men and dagga plants which being cultivated in one of the rooms,” said Sergeant Vincent Mashiteng.
“A total of 184 dagga plants and one plastic bag containing dagga were found in the house. The suspects were arrested on the spot,” added Mashiteng.
An investigation is underway to ascertain if the suspects are linked to other cases.
The suspects will appear in the Lenasia Magistrates’ Court on charges of cultivation of dagga and possession of dagga.
