Lenasia SAPS are investigating a case of rape after they attended to a scene whereby a 9-year-old boy was found in the open field at the D-section in Thembelihle.
The incident occurred on Wednesday, October 4, at about 3.30pm.
“The known male suspect was arrested and he is 35-years-old,” said Captain Molefe of the Soweto West Cluster.
He appeared in the Lenasia Magistrates’ Court on Friday, October 6.
Police, with the help of the community were able to apprehend the suspect.
Police urge the community not to take the law into their own hands.
