It is without doubt that the Lenasia community has succumbed to the scourge of drugs and drug activities in the past few years.
In a bid to eradicate drugs and crime, the Lenasia SAPS together with the JMPD and other Units, took to the streets in an operation, resulting in seven arrests, yielding the operation a success.

Acting on public tip-offs, authorities first went to Lehae, where drugs and dagga were seized.
A dagga tree was also spotted in a veld adjacent to one of the suspected houses. Although nobody was arrested, dagga, packed and ready to be sold, was found abandoned in one of the yards. A packet of Mandrax tablets was also found abandoned in the veld.

Police then proceeded to Lenasia where more successes were secured.
“Seven people between the ages of 25 and 41 were arrested for dealing in drugs ” said Lenasia SAPS spokesperson, Captain Hector Netshivhodza.
Suspected stolen property was also recovered.
The suspects appeared at the Lenasia Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, February 22.
“We would like to thank the community for the tip-offs,” Netshivhodza said.
