As taxi associations battle it out, innocent passenger are caught in the crossfire.
On Wednesday, June 8, a Lenasia United Taxi Association (LUTA) driver fled leaving his passengers stranded after his taxi came under attack near Trade Route Mall.
According to a source, the driver was transporting 11 passengers when the incident occurred.
“The suspects pulled up in front of the taxi and smashed all windows. The driver fled and left his passengers at the mercy of the suspects.
“However no one was hurt in the incident,” said the source.
The feud between LUTA and their rivals taxi organisation erupted after the association announced LUTA taxis will be operating from Trade Route and Top Shops (Lenasia CBD) via Eldorado Park, Freedom Park, Slovo Park (Nancefield) and Sun City (Naturena) from June 7.
