The incident occurred in Lenasia South Extension 1’s Manchester Street on Thursday, May 5.
According to reports, the owner of the house went to open the door for his worker to come in when saw his dog vomiting and howling in pain.
As he was moving the dog, he was accosted by five men who emerged from his backyard.
“He was ordered not to scream and led into the house,” said Lenasia SAPS communication officer, Seargent Khalipha Mvula.
All the occupants of the house were locked up in one bedroom and tied up with shoe laces.
