Fight against crime continues in Lenasia

On June 2, South Africa Police Services, in conjunction with the Gauteng Traffic Police, Department of Correctional Services, ESKOM, and Community Patrollers, stamped the authority of the state in the Lenasia policing precinct.

Lenasia SAPS spokesperson, Sergeant Bafana Ndimande, said, “Two vehicle checkpoints were set up; 1386 motor vehicles, 2009 people, and seventeen premises were searched. Eleven people were arrested for crimes ranging from possession of drugs to illegal immigration and dealing in liquor without a valid licence. The drugs, liquor, and electric cables seized were estimated to R58 000. Sixteen  traffic fines were issued to the value of R17 600.
