Lenasia South SAPS is investigating a case of malicious damage to property, after a Nedbank Automatic Teller Machine (ATM), situated at the premises of a BP filling station along the K43 road in Lenasia South was damaged during an ATM bombing incident. It occurred at 02:30 am on Saturday, April 9. Lenasia South SAPS spokesperson, Sergeant Khalipha Mvula said, “An unknown number of suspects allegedly on foot blew up the ATM utilising explosives. The impact of the blast left the ATM completely damaged. It’s unclear at this stage whether the perpetrators managed to get away with any cash from the scene. Police appeal to the public to assist with any information that will lead to the apprehension of the perpetrators by contacting Crime Stop on 08600 10111 or by utilising the MYSAPS APP to share information.”
