Lenasia South SAPS has opened a case of concealment of birth following the discovery of a foetus dumped in a veld in Lenasia South Extension 4. The incident occurred at 13:30 on Monday, February 14. Lenasia South SAPS spokesperson, Sergeant Khalipha Mvula, said, “The grim find was made by a passerby who was walking on a footpath near Annapurna Street in Lenasia South, Extension 4. Police were notified and the necessary role players were summoned to the scene.
The foetus was removed by the government pathological services, and taken to the Sebokeng government mortuary. No arrests have been made at this stage. Police appeal to the public to come forward with any information that could lead to the apprehension of the culprit and can do so by contacting Lenasia South SAPS on 010 230 0481 or by calling the Crime Stop Line on 08600 10111. Alternatively, they can use the MYSAPS APP that is downloadable on most smartphones.”
