The community of Fine Town has taken the law into its own hands. This came after the community fatally wounded two alleged suspects on January 31. The third suspect is receiving treatment in hospital.
The trio was accused of terrorising the community by committing crimes, ranging from business robberies to house robberies, carjackings, and rape.
Speaking to the Rising Sun, Ennerdale SAPS spokesperson Captain Mokoena said, “We are investigating a case of a double murder which took place at Fine Town North on January 31. We received a mob justice complaint, and upon investigation, two African men were found dead, one on the street and the other in his shack. Their ages are 26, 37, and 56, respectively. The third victim was taken to hospital with serious wounds to the body.”
Cpt Mokoena added, “These people are accused of terrorising the Fine Town. They were assaulted with dangerous weapons, including knobkerries and pangas. These people are all known to the community. We are warning the community not to take the law into its own hands.”
