Recently, Police, in conjunction with security guards, arrested ten suspects between the ages of 18 to 40 for alleged possession of a hijacked truck in Mayfair.
Johannesburg SAPS spokesperson, Captain Xoli Mbele, said, “Police were busy with their routine crime prevention duties when they saw males transferring boxes of fish oil from one truck to another. When the men saw the police, they ran away, but ten were apprehended. The preliminary investigation revealed that a truck had been hijacked in Olifantsfontein. It was loaded with goods to the value of an estimated R1,8 million. An investigation is under way and the suspects will appear soon in the Johannesburg Magistrates Court.”
