The police have launched a manhunt for three armed robbers who shot and killed a 42 year old male in Anchorville on Friday, February 8.
Lenasia South spokesperson, Sergeant Khalipha Mvula, had this to say: “The 42 year old victim and the driver of the truck in which they were travelling, were waiting for the main gate to be opened at the entrance of their company premises, when they were suddenly confronted by three unknown, armed men. The robbers suddenly opened fire on them whilst they were still inside the truck, resulting in the 42 year old sustaining a gunshot wound to his upper body. The three men proceeded to rob their victims of an undisclosed amount of cash before fleeing the scene.
The 42 year old succumbed to his injuries and was certified dead at the scene. A case of murder and armed robbery is currently being investigated. Police are appealing to members of the public to come forward with information that could assist police investigations.”
