On Monday, February 11, in Hospital Hills in Lenasia South, a 27 year old female sustained serious burn wounds to her face and upper body, and was rushed to the local hospital to receive medical treatment, after she was assaulted by her 29 year old boyfriend.

SAPS spokesperson, Sergeant Khalipha Mvula, said “According to information available, the 29 year old male had a heated argument with his 27 year old girlfriend after he accused her of being unfaithful to him. The argument escalated to the point where the man allegedly poured paraffin over his girlfriend and setting her alight.”
The suspect has been arrested and will appear in court to face a charge of attempted murder.
