Police are investigating a robbery after a house in Nightingale Street in Lenasia Extension 1 was broken into. According to the police, the robbery occurred during the early hours of Wednesday, January 16.
The victim and his family were sleeping when the robbers gained entry to their house through a trap-door.
The family was woken up by three men brandishing knives and firearms. They were tied up with cable ties and the robbers ransacked the house.
“They made off with an undisclosed amount of cash, jewellery and household appliances and used the victims’ Nissan bakkie to flee the scene,” said Lenasia SAPS spokesperson, Captain Hector Nethsivhodza.
Nobody has been arrested at this stage and police investigations are continuing.
