On Friday, September 14, members of the Soweto West Cluster’s Trio Task Team made a breakthrough in a house robbery case, by arresting a 40-year-old suspect.
The man is linked to a house robbery that allegedly took place during the wee hours of the morning at the Phumla Mqashi informal settlement in Unaville on Thursday, September 13.
According to information that is available to the police, about six burglars, two of whom were armed with hand guns stormed into the 27-year-old victims’ shack while the victims were asleep.
They robbed the couple of their cellphones, clothing items and an undisclosed amount of cash before fleeing from the scene.
“The case was assigned to the Soweto West Cluster’s Trio Task Team. More arrests are expected as investigations unfold,” said Lenasia South SAPS spokesperson, Sergent Khalipha Mvula.
The arrested suspect made his first court appearance on Monday, September 17.
