On Tuesday, September 11, members of the Soweto West Cluster’s Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual offences Unit (FCS) Unit pounced on a 25-year-old rape suspect during a night raid in Hospital Hills in Lenasia South.
The suspect was on the wanted list for allegedly raping a 16-year-old during September 2017 in Hospital Hills.
It is alleged the victim was lured into the suspect’s place by two of the suspect’s friends before leaving her at the mercy of the 25-year-old suspect.

The victim was threatened with a knife and repeatedly raped by her assailant.
“The victim told her parents and the matter was reported to the police.
The suspect managed to evade arrest until his he was finally arrested,” said Lenasia South SAPS spokesperson, Sergeant Khalipha Mvula.
The suspect appeared at the Protea Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, September 13, where he was remanded in custody.
