A couple aged 30 and 48-years-old were shot and killed at the corner of Rose Avenue and Impala Street on the early hours of Sunday, August 19.
According to police, the two were travelling in a Toyota Hilux. Suspects travelling in a Grey Golf 5 GTI with unknown registration numbers opened fire on the Hilux, killing both occupants.
Although reports claimed the double murder might have been drug related, Lenasia SAPS spokesperson, Captain Hector Netshivhodza refused to comment saying investigations are continuing.
“I dont know about the drugs, but we are investigating two cases of murder,” he said.
The couple is said to have been from Protea Glen.
