According to General Kekana of the Soweto West Cluster, there has been in increase in house robberies in the Lenasia South area.
On December 6, two house robberies in the area were reported, both robberies occurred between 3pm and 4pm.
The first incident occurred on Kingfisher Street, where the suspects gained entry through the roof. Electronic items and jewellery were taken.
The second incident occurred on Richmond Street. The suspects gained entry by breaking down the front door. Electronic items were also taken.
Residents are urged to be alert and notify the authorities of any suspicious activities.
“We urge neighbours to keep an eye on each others houses. If you are going away on holiday, try to get someone to stay at your house and inform your neighbours. Please ensure you test your alarm systems regularly to ensure that it is functioning properly,” said a source.
