Police have launched a manhunt for an unknown number of suspects who were involved in the fatal shooting of a 56-year-old tavern owner on Saturday, November 4, in Hospital Hills, Lenasia South.
It is alleged that on Saturday at around 11pm an unknown number of suspects entered the deceased’s tavern and fired shots into the air before ordering patrons to lie down on the floor.
The owner heard the commotion and went to investigate but was shot at by one of the gunmen. The suspects then took an undisclosed amount of cash from the cash register and fled the scene.
The owner was rushed to the Daxina Medical Clinic but was declared as dead on arrival.
In a separate incident two men were fatally shot in Vlakfontein Extension 3, in the early hours of Sunday, November 5.

The suspects then shot and killed Jelous Rihlampfu (33) and Jonus Chauke (41) before fleeing the scene.
