A man believed to be between 30 and 36 years of age was murdered in the early parts of Friday, October 23.
The killing, a result of a robbery gone wrong, was executed in full view of his elderly mother, in Lenasia Extension 3’s Poppy Street. According to a source, the culprits used a crowbar to gain entry through a burglar gate.
Also, according to unconfirmed reports, one kitchen window was forcibly opened by the culprits.
It is not yet known how many suspects were involved in the robbery.
There had been two occupants in the house, a mother and her son who were woken to find the suspects in the house. The suspects tied the mother up before ransacking the house. The son is said to have been hit over the head with an unknown object, which resulted in his death.
Police and forensics were on scene
Two vehicles were also taken from the residence, a Blue Toyota Corolla (Kentucky rounder) and a white Golf GTI with registration number, DC38MV.
Police are investigating a case of house robbery and murder.
