A 57-year-old mother has teamed up with her 37-year-old son for all the wrong reasons, instead of teaching her child valuable life lessons,
Both were arrested for being involved in illegal activities in Ennerdale and the surrounding areas. The duo were arrested on March 21, after the Johannesburg Metropolitan Department Police (JMPD) discovered unlicensed firearms, live ammunition, police hand radio and dagga, in their house.

Ennerdale SAPS spokesperson, Sergeant Mvula said the arrest came as a result of a successful stop and search which was conducted by the JMPD.
“JMPD were following up on information on a murder case which was reported at the Ennerdale police station a few weeks ago and went to a house in Ennerdale Extension 5 where it was believed the suspect was hiding. Upon their arrival at the house they found a man who matched the description of the wanted suspect, and woman who later identified herself as the man’s mother.
“A search of the premises was conducted and an unlicensed firearm with live ammunition was discovered hidden underneath the suspect’s bed as well as a police hand radio. Another unlicensed firearm, a 9mm pistol and dagga were discovered hidden inside the woman’s bedroom.
