Five men, aged between 19 and 25, were arrested after they robbed a man outside his house in Lenasia Extension 3 on Wednesday, September 23. The suspects robbed the man of his cell phone and fled the scene on foot.
“The victim shouted for help,” said Captain Hector Netshivhodza of the Lenasia SAPS.
The community responded to the victim’s cries. Upon seeing the fleeing suspects, members of the community gave chase.
After hearing about the robbery, the Neighborhood Watch also gave chase. According to a source, the neighborhood watch was on top of things and were able to catch four of the suspects.
“The suspects were then handed over to the police, free of injuries,” said Captain Netshivhodza.
