A business in Extension 11A and a house in Lenasia’s Extension 13, were robbed on the night of April 10 and the early hours of April 11.
In the first robbery at about 7.50pm on Sunday, a man entered the shop on the corner of Bangalore and Penner Street in Lenasia Extension 11 on the pretext of buying cigarettes.
He was later joined by three accomplices, one of whom pulled out a gun. The four instructed everyone to lie flat on the ground and ordered the cashier to put the money in a bag.
“The suspects escaped with an undisclosed amount of money, cigarettes and airtime. Two shots were fired before the men fled the scene.
“One of the men was later arrested. However, three are still at large,” said Nesthivhodza.
The second robbery occurred at a house on Turquoise Street in the early hours of Monday.
The family was held up by a group of men at gun point and one of the victims was hit with the butt of a gun.
The suspects escaped with cash, a TV and jewellery.
